Queen Mum

The Queen Mum the youngest daughter of the fourteenth Earl and Countess of Strathmore, was born at
St. Paul's, Walden Bury in Hertforshire on 4th August 1900.

On 30 March 2002, at 3:15pm, the Queen Mother died peacefully in her sleep at the Royal Lodge, Windsor.

She was 101 years old, and at the time of her death was the longest-lived member of the royal family in
British history. This record was broken on 24 July 2003, by her last surviving sister-in-law Princess Alice,
Duchess of Gloucester, who died aged 102 on 29 October 2004.

The Queen Mum will always be remembered helping the English soldiers during World War II.

The Queen Mum visited the people in different parts of England giving them hope during World War II.


She will always be affectionately known the world over as "The Queen Mum".
